First Communion Photography Session

I had the best time hanging out with this little girl. She was so cool and her mom brought the best props. This is her guitar, she’s learning to play. The butterfly in the jar isn’t real but it’s a fantastic prop and they picked up a bunch of colorful roses on the way. We started in the studio, but I really wasn’t feeling it. When I suggested we move outside to my back yard the little girl asked if she had to wear her shoes. That’s around the time I fell in love with her. I made sure we documented the holiness of the occasion and moved on to capturing who she really is… a playful little flower child.

It had been a long time since I have seen this family. The kids have changed so much…in appearance that is. They all still have their fantastic personalities that have always been so much fun to capture.

I couldn’t have been any happier than when I saw these two standing on my porch. Big sister was wearing her fancy Barbie Princess Dress, plastic heels and tiara and Little brother was carrying his sword. You know, in case he needed to slay a dragon. Mom wanted to capture who they really are, which proved to be a little tougher than I expected, because they are a little shy. They were most comfortable when interacting with one another, so that’s what I had them do. They are both beautiful children. Although I only spent an hour or so with them, I think I was able to capture their sweet personalities.

It was great to meet this fun family. These two are full of personality! I had a great time working (playing) with them.

This pout was real and has to be my favorite shot of the session!
