I worked with one while the other got ready.  Their moms carried around all the clothing and accessories as we went from place to place. If you want to do a wardrobe change downtown you have to be ok with changing in back alleys.  Not kidding.  The girls did the same poses and knew each other so well, making one another laugh or smile naturally was effortless.  We did their shoot in an hour and they split the cost.  There is no extra charge for sharing a shoot, although you are welcome to book an extra half hour for $50.00, if you think you will need it.  $125.00 is a bargain for a high resolution disc of your Downtown Frederick Senior Photo Session.  If you are interested in shooting downtown we need to be finished a little before 10:00am.  The light is best at this time but more importantly the streets are pretty empty, so we don’t have to worry about being self conscious or people in the background.  Here are some of the highlights of the session…

They saw the pictures I did last Saturday and wanted the same.  I had scoped out a few more of the hundreds of nooks and crannies that downtown Frederick has to offer and thought we should do something a little different as well.  Two years ago I did his sister’s senior pictures.  She was gorgeous.  I saw mother and son coming towards me with a bag of clothes and was pleased to see that it runs in the family.  He has a great smile, mimicked my poses naturally and he may have even had a little bit of fun.  I couldn’t wait to get home and start playing with his images.  They turned out great.

]]> http://babyfacephoto.info/blog/senior-portrait-session-in-downtown-frederick-5711/feed/ 0 Senior Pictures on Location in Downtown Frederick http://babyfacephoto.info/blog/senior-pictures-on-location-in-downtown-frederick-43011/ http://babyfacephoto.info/blog/senior-pictures-on-location-in-downtown-frederick-43011/#comments Thu, 05 May 2011 19:22:08 +0000 Amy Masser http://babyfacephoto.info/blog/?p=6154 This beautiful Senior is the daughter of one of Katie’s teachers.  She was great to work with, laid back, took direction very well and gorgeous.  I did some different effects to these images because it seemed age appropriate and to show how many different ways you can make  a single image look.  I squeezed her Senior portrait session in Saturday morning before I shot the Children’s Festival.  I planned to take my 15 Year old daughter Katie, who has Down’s Syndrome, as my second shooter for the Children’s Festival.  Katie shot this session with me as well.  I gave her no direction, only a D90 set on program mode.  She seems to be more comfortable working with small children.  A lot of her pictures were of me working, which I am excited to have for the website.  Her self portrait is my favorite.

Ok.  This is what my kitchen looked like at 9:30 this morning. And this is what it looked like at 11:00.  He taped off and covered everything except the counter tops.

At about 11:15 he started spraying the base coat.  He let that dry then did the flecked granite coat.  Those two coats dried quickly and were not too fumey smelling.  By around 1:30 he started the glossy clear coat.   This is what really makes it look like granite.

By 3:30 he had the tape off and the counters were dry to touch.  He said I could put my things back on them tomorrow morning! I can’t believe how great this looks.  Feel free to have a look when you come to the studio.

]]> http://babyfacephoto.info/blog/prom-pictures-and-new-counter-tops-42911/feed/ 0 Family Photography Session In Downtown Frederick http://babyfacephoto.info/blog/family-photography-session-in-downtown-frederick-103110/ http://babyfacephoto.info/blog/family-photography-session-in-downtown-frederick-103110/#comments Mon, 01 Nov 2010 18:56:08 +0000 Amy Masser http://babyfacephoto.info/blog/?p=3588 Sunday afternoon I did a location shoot in downtown Frederick with close friends to update their family photos.  I have been taking their pictures for eleven years.  The oldest is good friends with Tommy and always over at the house.  Every member of this family is hysterically funny.  I always enjoy seeing them.  Mom is a wonderful cook.  In fact she teaches cooking.  She has a sixth sense about my stress levels and when it’s high she brings me some of the best food I have ever tasted.  In fact when Katie broke her ankle last week and became wheelchair bound I got a batch of potato leek with roasted arugula soup.  It made everything better.  I don’t know why I feel extra pressure when I work with people I know, but the shoot went great.
