Baby R’s One Year Old Photography Session At Sherwood Gardens

Baby R’s mommy saw the one year old session I did at Sherwood Gardens last spring when baby R was a newborn. She has been planning to do her one year photos here for a year. The weather was a lot cooler this year, but the gardens were at peak bloom. The overcast day made for beautiful lighting. The rain held off until the ride home. Baby R was adorable and happy. Big sister, who is 2 1/2 got a few shots as well. I brought my second shooter Katie Masser along for the session. We really needed to get this done while the tulips were in bloom. Sunday was the only day I had enough time to get to Baltimore for a shoot. It was also Katie’s and my day to hang out, so she came along. She is 15 years old and has down’s syndrome. She got some great shots. I did very little editing to her images. See the bottom of the post for her album. I’m pretty proud of her.

I love that mom handed the girls chocolate bunnies for the last few shots of our session.

It was great to meet baby S and her mommy and daddy last Monday. Daddy is a firefighter and brought along his boots, pants, helmet and jacket for the shoot. I love this shot. I make sure I post it every time I do it, to encourage other firefighter daddies to do the same.

It was very nice to meet baby J and his mommy and daddy this afternoon. He is just starting to sit up and he did a fantastic job with his pictures. We were able to get way more accomplished in an hour than I expected. He was so good, I spent a little extra time with him. (sometimes it’s a benefit to be the last shoot of the day) What a litlle love bug he is.

Baby feet are delicious!

Baby ‘A’ is One and He Brought Baby Chicks!!!

I was so excited to do this session this morning. Baby A’s Grandma asked if it was ok to bring baby chicks and a mini hay bail to the studio for his one year old pictures. Of course I wholeheartedly encouraged it. I actually had baby chicks in the studio about 12 years ago. I have forgotten why I didn’t do it again. These shots are so cute I am tempted to buy some and see if I remember. Baby A’s first encounter with the chicks happened in the studio this morning. He was a little timid, but allowed them to sit on his lap. He even wore my little red cowboy hat for a while. Today was baby A’s actual birthday. Grandma also picked up the cutest little cake to smash. It was so cute I asked where she got it and how much it cost. $5.00 at Walmart in Frederick (It also comes in white). It was so good to see everyone again. Big hug to Grandma for making it all happen today. Great job!
